Spit It Out: What You Need to Know About Spit Tobacco - Program-in-a-Box
With so much attention given to smoking, how much do students on your campus know about spit tobacco? This program-in-a-box provides you and your peer educators with all the basics about this rising health concern, including use rates, health effects, tobacco industry marketing tactics, cessation options, and policy issues. The box contains a facilitator guide in binder, a Power Point presentation on CD, an evaluation form, 25 copies of the “Quit the Spit” pamphlet, and five spit quit kits. This hour-long program is an easy way to educate peer educators, student groups, residents, athletic teams, or tobacco task forces. Ready to be used with “clicker” technology! The Power Point presentation has clicker questions built in so that you can survey, review and check for comprehension during the program. (Note: Each campus will need to import the Power Point presentation into its own clicker technology software.) If you do not have access to clicker technology, you can simply delete the questions or ask them as discussion questions.
