INFORMATION ON THE MERGER OF BACCHUS WITH NASPA
NASPA–Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education, the leading association for the advancement, health, and sustainability of the student affairs profession, has been a long-time BACCHUS partner in promoting student and campus-based leadership and education concerning alcohol abuse prevention, tobacco use, illegal drug use, unhealthy sexual practices, and other high-risk behaviors.
As previously announced, the BACCHUS Board of Trustees, many of whom have their roots in the student affairs profession and NASPA, put forward a vote to the BACCHUS membership to transfer their programs and services to NASPA, and thus dissolve the BACCHUS corporation in its current form.
On Nov. 16 during the BACCHUS General Assembly, the Student Delegates voted to approve the recommendation to merge The BACCHUS Network with NASPA.
The BACCHUS Network continues to be the leader in supporting student leadership and peer education on health and safety issues for college and university campuses throughout the United States. With over 38 years of experience in the field, BACCHUS remains committed to providing networking, educational, and programming opportunities to college peer health educators and their professional advisors on a national and regional level (read press release here).
NASPA and BACCHUS will be spending the first half of 2014 developing strategies to better serve the peer education needs of the nation. During this time, the NASPA and BACCHUS staff will define the membership plan and affiliation process. BACCHUS peer education groups who were members in 2013 will retain their member benefits at no additional cost through June 30, 2014. NASPA members are also able to enjoy these benefits during this time (see Affiliate Pricing — How It Works below).
With few exceptions, the BACCHUS Network Materials Center will remain as it has been. We will continue to provide our Network with the best educational materials on issues relevant to alcohol and other drug use, sexual health, tobacco control and mental health and wellness. We remain committed to serving you.
The biggest change going forward from a functioning standpoint has to do with our billing and member benefit programs. Orders placed in 2014 via credit card will now be charged by NASPA – and your credit card receipts will show that NASPA was the merchant. We are asking that all purchase orders and checks for orders placed in 2014 now be made out to NASPA rather than the BACCHUS Network.
Our affiliate program will also undergo some changes in 2014. You can read about these changes below.
AFFILIATE PRICING – HOW IT WORKS
For the last two years – BACCHUS Network peer education groups have been able to become recognized affiliates by paying a $300 Membership Fee. That affiliate status has allowed these schools to receive reduced conference registrations and a 10% discount on all orders from the BACCHUS Network Store.
These annual memberships expired as of December 31st – and for the time being the new BACCHUS and NASPA partnership will not be asking our peer education groups to renew their Membership or pay any additional costs.
It is the current vision of the organization that schools with NASPA Membership can use that status to receive the same discounts at conferences and in the Online Store that the previous BACCHUS Membership provided.
The actual process of how this will occur is one of the items that will be managed during the sic-month transition period for BACCHUS and NASPA. The organization plans on having a process in place by July 1 of 2014.
In the meantime – we would love to have our current customers as well as new customers continue to obtain the perks and discounts of being a Member.
In order to make that happen – all users who type in the promo code NASPA as part of their Checkout process will receive the 10% Affiliate discount.
FINDING ITEMS ON THE SITE
To browse through the items, simply use the pull down menu on the home page or see all of a category such as posters using the “See All” bar. If you know what you are looking for, you can use the Search Bar to type in your item (or educational topic) and those items that fit the description should appear.
CREATE A LOGIN ACCOUNT
Customers can create an account by using the Sign Up link on the home page. Once you have created an account, you can Login each time you are ready to place an order. Using the Login allows you to check previous orders, story billing & shipping information, and save items for future purchases (wishlist).
CAN I PLACE MY ORDER OVER THE PHONE?

SHIPPING INFORMATION
The Materials Center is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and we ship materials to our customers via UPS and the USPS so that we can track your order. If you need the status of your order, when it arrived or who signed for it, simply give us a call.
How Fast Do My Items Arrive
Orders usually ship from the Materials Center within 7-10 days of the order, arriving 3-5 days after shipping. Sometimes things arrive sooner, but rarely do orders arrive later than two weeks after the order has been placed.
If you need items to arrive within a few days of your order, we can try to help you. You will be charged for the overnight or air delivery – but if possible, we will get your order out. Please call us so we can let you know how fast we can ship your order and quote you a price.
Why Is My Shipping Cost 10%?
The BACCHUS Network charges a flat shipping and handling fee of 10% of your total order. This covers not only our shipping costs, but also our handling fees, rent, insurance, packing materials, and other costs associated with getting orders sent. This fee is also for UPS Ground in the Continental United States. Rush shipping orders and orders to Hawaii, Alaska, or overseas will result in additional shipping costs within the Continental United States.
